Stumbled upon this place while driving back to Kona. Nice homely restaurant that looks to be frequented equally by local residents and tourists. Surprisingly extensive menu choices and the food was piping hot and tasty. Tried out their coffee cheesecake and lava cake and both were fantastic. Extremely friendly and quick service. Wide choice for adults and kids. Definitely worth a stop if looking for a filling, tasty meal in a casual setting. I had the Ono fish and chips and definitely the best fish and chips I’ve had to date.

Bunch of regulars watching football at the bar, and plenty of seating for the walk-in tourists. Waiters are friendly and helpful, like they've been serving people for a long time, and they really pay attention. Good beef loco moco, and my wife enjoyed her burger. Local beers on tap, and it was fun to say I had a beer in the southernmost bar in the whole USA! We went here twice and enjoyed the sports bar atmosphere.

Friendly service and tasty food! It was a great place to stop after spending the afternoon at Black Sand Beach. We worked up an appetite and the portions here were very generous. They also have a decent selection of local beer on tap!

We love Kai Lokis! We’ve traveled all over the world and they have the absolute BEST fish and chips we’ve ever had. The staff is friendly, helpful and incredibly accommodating. We live on the Big Island and it’s not an easy task finding a restaurant that has decent prices, great service and friendly staff. Kai Lokis is our go-to for dining out in our area. If you’re looking for a wonderful place to eat in Ka’u this is the place to stop and enjoy a delicious meal.

The food was quite good. The fish and chips, while VERY tasty, were not as mind blowing as other reviews indicated they would be. However the white fish was dense and they were great so they get 5 stars. Their nachos were great, and their chicken strips seem to be good per my traveling companions. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious and it seems like a super fun place to hang out or attend any events. Also, their coleslaw and sautéed veggies were shockingly amazing!! Also, my son said the fries are the best he’s ever had…they were next level!

My wife and I were hungry after visiting south point and the green sand beach. We were blown away by the service and food we received. After spending 8 days on the island, it was the best experience to date. The calamari was perfectly breaded and cooked. The zucchini sticks were delicious. The fish and chips were great and the club sandwich was incredible in taste as well as size. Arguably the best home made cheese cake we’ve ever had as well. 10/10 would recommend.
